Da Vinci’s Halloween Notebook: A Watercolor Painting Night Imagine painting with Leonardo da Vinci, himself! In this guided “spooky” fun painting night at FlyteCo Tower, you’ll create your own aged-parchment “notebook page” filled with a glowing jack-o’-lantern cross-section, a spiderweb stretching across the corner, and a bat-wing flying machine with your engineering notes scribbled beside it. You can even try your hand at mirror-writing “Ottobre” like the maestro himself. See more details and reserve your spot.

What you’ll do

  • Wash your page in warm, sepia-toned watercolor for an antique, stained-parchment look
  • Sketch your design in pencil, then bring it to life with marker linework and layered watercolor
  • Choose your own details and colors. Carve a different pumpkin face or swap it out for a human skull or design your own wings. The notebook page has room for your own variations and annotations

No experience needed. Da Vinci himself will walk you through each step, and the page is designed so no two paintings come out alike. Make it spooky, silly, scientific, or all three.

What’s included

  • All materials: watercolor paints, pencils, markers, brushes, and paper
  • Step-by-step guidance from Leonardo da Vinci
  • Your finished painting to take home

Food and drinks are available for purchase at FlyteCo Tower, so grab a pint or a bite while you paint.

Perfect for date nights, friends’ nights out, Halloween-season fun, and anyone who likes to make something with their hands.

FAQ

Do I need to be a painter?
Not at all. Anyone who wants to paint is encouraged to come and have fun. We’ll teach you every step. If you do have experience, there is room for you to flex your creativity as well.
What drinks are available?
We are hosted by FlyteCo Tower. They have wonderful food and beverages available for purchase. See their website FlyteCo Tower
What do I need to bring?
Your spirit of fun. We provide all the materials you need.
What should I wear?
We’ll be using watercolor paints and washable markers for this session, which are easier to wash out than acrylic paint, but I wouldn’t wear your finest white clothes if you are worried about it. We do provide aprons to offer more protection.
Do I get to keep my painting?
Absolutely! They are 11 x 14 pages which can be put together to make a 14 x 22 display. Both sizes are great for framing if you choose to do that at home.
Is there parking?
FlyteCo has a parking lot and more free street parking if it fills up. Located in the Northfield neighborhood.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Yes! FlyteCo Tower has full ADA accessibility
